Our Aims

Our Aim

Havant Community Energy is dedicated to reducing carbon emissions through retrofitting and generating renewable energy for the community. Any revenue from our energy production will be reinvested back into the community or society to create even more energy. This approach transforms the economic structure of energy production.

What Is Community Energy?

Who is Havant Community Energy?

Havant Community Energy (HCE) is a volunteer-led group that will advise, facilitate, promote and invest in renewable energy. We are a non-profit Community Benefit Society.

As we work with Havant community centres to reduce energy use we will push to install alternative energy sources such as rooftop solar—an immediate, visible step toward a cleaner future. We are investigating the feasibility of putting solar panels on a landfill in such a way as to increase biodiversity. We are also examining the viability of innovative solutions like battery storage, small wind turbines, tidal power, and geothermal energy.

It’s an ambitious mission, but with strong local partnerships, real progress is already underway.

Want to be part of the change? Whether you’re ready to collaborate, volunteer, or simply want to learn more about community energy, we’d love to hear from you.

Residential

We strongly encourage residential solar panels and point to advice on this from Switched on Havant click HERE. or Petersfield Climate Action Network’s new home advice click HERE

As we grow we hope to explore community heating systems and community energy systems.
